"Environmental art is a concrete way of raising up the values of the are, to see ones own environment in a new way and get interested in influencing it," Helsinki-based artist Jonna Pohjalainen explains. A few years ago she spent her summer in Pedvale, Lativia, to take part in an environmental art workshop. She didn't have much tools on her, but she did have her coloring pencils, which gave her the brilliant idea of transforming the gray aspen logs that were around into enormous coloring pencils.
That's great! I remember taking a class on wabisabi art and this reminds me of that in a way. Creating artwork out of nature and leaving it to age naturally. Beautiful!
