Arria is a beautiful giant metal mermaid, designed by English sculptor Andy Scott. She stretches out her arms as if guarding the entrance to the Scottish town of Cumbernauld. The residents believe she will bring them prosperity and good luck. Arria is also installed with a lighting rig, set to a cycle which repeats every 48 minutes. In the evening, she is seen in a variety of colors, some previewed below.
