Fragmented

I remember seeing very similar watercolor paintings at the flea market in Beirut as well as in Paris, sold as souvenirs, and i kick myself for not buying any. The use of watercolor with this technique is certainly not new, watercolor and ink wash have been used for decades. We as viewers often expect to see a finished piece of art, the full picture basically, and in this case we don't but to our surprise we are challenged to complete this fragmented painting in our own imaginative ways. If painters and illustrators shared their sketches out of their notepad hidden in their studio i believe we'd see millions of beautifully unfinished-works in short stand-still moments of an artists exploration.

These beauties were created by South Korea-based designer and illustrator Sunga park, each scene is a study of the architecture located in cities around Europe.
