Damn the dishes

British artist Susie MacMurray created an intriguing installation "A Mixture of Frailties." The white gown standing 6 feet tall, is made entirely out of yellow household gloves (1,400 pieces to be exact), flipped inside out revealing their white interior. The first thoughts that come to mind are , wedding gown, marriage, bride... however on closer look, the gown looks almost suffocating and heavy for a woman. Through this work, MacMurray shows us the connection made between the feminine form and the work that is traditionally expected of women, forcing us to reflect on social and cultural expectations.
