Eerie yet intricately lovely, Spanish artist Antonio Santin has created this series of oil paintings on canvas of ornate carpets covering what appears to be bodies. A little morbid i must admit, first thought would be "is he alive?" But then again we shouldn't be surprised as Santin's work often evokes a haunting sense. The New York-based artist describes his work as inviting, and a reminder to viewers that these are paintings, with a choice to believe whatever they want. He calls it "High-class entertainment"
Let's forget the bodies below these carpets for a minute, and take a look at the details in the patterns, almost realistic. I don't have any idea what there exact sizes are, but the artist paints all his work in large format for the purpose of showing off the great detail in the subject.
