Let there be light

Photographer David Gilliver transforms the Channel Island of Guernsey into a festival of light. These photographs are beautiful, the light created looks like music, and really brings these abandoned areas to life. Using a technique he learned throughout years of experimenting, Gilliver lights up the place using LED lights fixed onto a man-made contraption which attaches to a drill that rotates in circles. He also uses light sabers and glow sticks as paintbrushes to create the waves of light. Gilliver is always present in his photographs but he dresses in very dark clothes to remain invisible. Exposures can last up to 30 minutes, allowing Gilliver to step in and out of the frame adding the light freely.
