With a drop of ink...

I received this in an email this morning, and i had to share it. A great initiative by Solidarites International and its agency BDDP; to mark World Water Day, on March 22nd, a campaign will be launched to build awareness of the scourge of undrinkable water. Today, an estimated 3.6 million people, including 1.5 million children under the age of 5, die every year of diseases borne by unhealthy water, making it the world's leading cause of death.

Let's take a look at the actual work put into this, BDDP Unlimited went for a very minimalist approach, both visually appealing and relevant to the cause, by using only water and ink. The spot shows the power of ink to reveal the invisible. This kind of reminds me of the power of signatures for Amnesty International campaigns.

The campaign calls on journalists to spread awareness of this scourge and appeal to readers to sign a petition that will be personally handed to the French president during the 6th World Water Forum in March 2012. The campaign will be seen from mid-March on TV, cinemas, online and in print, driving people to the website www.votregouttedeau.org to sign the petition.
