Hop on

With Art Dubai just around the corner for the fifth edition, art lovers in the UAE are in for a visual treat. Complementing the high profile art events that attract global talent, the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and thejamjar are supporting the ArtBus, which makes it's return for the fifth consecutive year. This year, the ArtBus will not only transport art lovers to arts venues in Al Quoz, DIFC and Al Bastakia but also to Sharjah, where the Biennal 10 will be taking place at the same time. How convenient!

The most compelling feature of the ArtBus this year will be its exteriors, which will feature exclusive artworks by Emirati artists Zeinab Alhashemi, Sheikha Bin Daher and Saeed Al Madani, who have been specially commissioned by Dubai Culture in association with ArtintheCity (more on that later).

This initiative aims to showcase both the local culture and contemporary art practices in the UAE, as conceptualized by emerging Emirati artists to both local and international arts audience.

"The artworks on the ArtBus will also provide audiences with an innovative way to experience visual art in a mobile format."
Dr. Salah Al Qassim - Advisor to the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

Like every year, the ArtBuses will have dedicated art guides providing insight into the galleries and the art on show. Passengers will be provided with art packs, intro leaflets, maps ... etc
This initiative is part of ArtintheCity as mentioned earlier; it's a project that unites arts and culture in the UAE through a comprehensive website. It's got all the information you need to get around the art scene here, with interactive maps, schedules and updates. It's quite useful I highly recommend checking it out.

For more info on the trips' schedule and dates visit www. artinthecity.com
